About me
Jonas Blank is Senior Vice President, Business & Legal Affairs, for NBCUniversal’s Platform Distribution and Partnerships Group. He structures, negotiates, and executes high-stakes, high-value content transactions across three core lines of NBCU’s television business: distribution of the full NBCU TV network portfolio to v/MVPDs, syndication of the Peacock direct-to-consumer streaming app to major tech/CTV partners, and distribution of NBCU’s growing FAST channel portfolio to standalone, tech/CTV, and v/MVPD partners. In addition, Jonas serves as business/commercial lead with respect to platform and FAST distribution to one of NBCU’s largest tech/CTV partners.
Jonas’ career in content distribution at NBCU has included participating in NBCU’s launch transactions with the two current largest vMVPDs; the launch of NBCU TV networks on Sling TV; the acquisition of the initial content slate for Peacock; the launch of Peacock on platforms including Roku, Amazon, Android, Apple TV, and Xfinity; FAST channel transactions with multiple such partners, and multibillion dollar distribution transactions with the largest satellite, cable and virtual MVPDs. Jonas is a member of NBCUniversal’s FAST steering committee, and serves a key role in connecting and coordinating NBCU’s legal teams involved in domestic and international distribution. Prior to NBCUniversal, Jonas was part of the business affairs team at Univision.
In his “prior life,” Jonas was an attorney specializing in domestic and international mergers and acquisitions, private equity investments, and venture capital.
Jonas is a graduate of Duke University and Harvard Law School. He lives in New York with his wife, daughter and (less importantly) record collection.
