About me
Mark Garner is Executive Vice President and Head of Global FAST at A+E Networks with responsibility for the development, operation, distribution, marketing and monetization of A+E Networks’ global portfolio of free ad-supported streaming (FAST) channels. Mark began his career in cable in 1995 as a Local Ad Sales Manager in Affiliate Sales at MTV Networks. Over the course of his career, Mark contributed to the development and launching of set top box video-on-demand, TV Everywhere, SVOD, AVOD and eventually FAST services. Garner started his career at Pacific Bell (now AT&T), with stints at several start-up ventures, including a satellite broadcast network based in Johannesburg, South Africa.
Mark has served on several industry and corporate boards including CTAM, Digital Entertainment Group, and Black News Channel. Most dear to his heart is the time he spent serving as executive board member and chair of NAMIC, the media and cable industry’s leading organization for advocacy on behalf of people of color.
Garner earned his B.A. in Economics and Sociology from Stanford University. Born in Detroit, and raised in the New York metropolitan area, he now resides in South Orange, New Jersey with his wife Suzette and son, Santos.
